OUR STORY

Masala Kitchen began with a vision to bring true Indian street food to the United States. After traveling to the U.S. in the 1990s and noticing the lack of authentic options, our founder Vaishal Soni teamed up with Executive Chef Arjun Thakur to turn this passion into a business. In May 2013, Masala Kitchen opened its first location in downtown Philadelphia — and quickly became known for fast, flavorful, and fresh Indian street food made right in front of guests.
